I’m Esther, the owner of E.M Refine Studio — and a mum of four with a lifelong love for makeup, beauty, and all things style. Originally from the beautiful coast of Cornwall, I moved to Leeds in 2012 when my husband signed a rugby union contract here. What began as a big life change soon shaped the path that led me to where I am today.

I’ve always been drawn to makeup, hair, and fashion, so after years in an office role, I took a sabbatical to finally follow my passion. I trained in permanent makeup with Sculpt SPMU Academy and studied professional makeup artistry at the Cassie Lomas Makeup Academy. This allowed me to refine my skills and develop the expertise to provide natural, long-lasting, confidence-boosting results for every client.

Today, I specialise in permanent makeup, hyper-realism (nano) brows, and bespoke bridal and occasion makeup from my luxury home studio in Leeds. Opening E.M Refine Studio was a defining moment in my life — after being made redundant from my role of ten years, I chose to turn a challenging situation into an opportunity. It was then that my dream started to become a reality.

My approach is warm, attentive, and personalised. I take time to listen carefully to each client’s goals so that every treatment feels tailored, considered, and completely in harmony with their natural features. Helping people see their beauty and regain confidence is truly what I love most — it’s why this doesn’t just feel like a career, but my dream job.
